Getting Started With Crossbar

Create an Account

  1. Click the "Sign Up" Link (upper left hand corner)
  2. Enter your email address and password
  3. You will receive a verification email to the address you provided
  4. Click the verification link in the email
  5. Enter your name & phone number to complete your profile
  6. Save

Parent Account Options

After signing in click the "Account" link to access and modify your account information

  • Participants: Used to add players to your profile. Click the "+" to add a player or click "Register" to see what is open for registration
  • Teams: Teams are added automatically when you register. Click your team to go to the Team Page
  • Settings: Update your Name, Phone Number, Email Address or Password
  • Notification: Sets Email and Mobile notification preferences for games & practices

Adding Players to your account

  1. Login to your account
  2. Select the "Account" link (upper left hand corner)
  3. Click the "+" at the end of the Participants list
  4. Complete the player profile (full name & birthday)
  5. Save
  6. Click the player profile icon under the player name (the icon on the left)
  7. Scroll down to Associations and add your players USA hockey number

Player Registration

  1. Select the "Account" link (upper left hand corner)
  2. Click the Register icon below the player name (the icon on the right)
  3. Select "Register" for the program you want
  4. Select "Register" again
  5. Select the player (or create a new participant)
  6. Complete the player address & click "Continue"
  7. Complete the player school and grade information & click "Continue"
  8. Complete waivers
  9. Select a payment option (full or payment plan)
  10. Complete payment process
  11. Complete registration
  12. Click the Grizzly logo (upper left hand side)

Create a family Account

  1. Select the "Account" link (upper left hand corner)
  2. Click the player profile icon under the players name (the icon on the left)
  3. The "Accounts" table shows all the email addresses associated with this player
  4. Click the "Add" button and add the email address of another family member you wish to be associated with this player profile
  5. If the email is already on an account it will automatically have the player added
  6. If the email does not yet have an account a verification email will be sent to them. They will then create their own Crossbar account and the player will be associated with it.
  7. NOTE: Players can only be associated with one family account

How to Setup the Crossbar Mobile App

  1. Download and install the Crossbar Mobile App (Links are below for iOS and Android)
  2. Login using the same email address and password that you used to create your Crossbar account on the SMS Youth Hockey website 
  3. There are two menu choices: Family Calendar and Teams
  • Family Calendar - shows practice and game calendars for registered players. Subscribe to your Family Calendar by clicking on the cloud icon, which allows you to sync to your calendar on iOS/Android calendar applications.
  • Teams - lists the teams that your players are rostered on. 'Team' will take you to the Team Page. 'Schedule' will show the team schedule. 'Roster' will show the team roster. Selecting a player will show their parent/guardian contact details. 'Chat' allows you to chat with other parents/guardians on the team.

Family Calendar

Family Calendar

The practice and game schedules for players are shown on the Family Calendar. Players must be assigned to a team for entries to be shown. When you log in to the app, you can view the Family Calendar by clicking on the menu button on the left. Here, you can RSVP to games and practices by clicking the green check or red x buttons.

Mobile App

All registered Crossbar users will have access to the Crossbar mobile application on both iOS and Android. After you’ve downloaded the app from the App Store or Google Play, you can log in with the same user account you use with your club’s website. Once logged in, you’ll be able to see your player’s Team(s) and schedule. 

If you do not see your teams showing, you may need to be granted access to your player’s profile by the primary account who registered your player. For more information and the steps for that user to follow, please read above.

When you log into the mobile app, click on the menu button and then Teams, where you will be presented with a list of active teams that are associated with your account.

If you are missing teams from your list in the app, it is likely because your account is not associated with the team.

Confirm Delete
Click the delete icon again to confirm. Click escape to cancel.
